CONVOY OF REMEMBRANCE 1945–2010
Welcome to registration page of traditional, now 20th year of CONVOY OF REMEMBRANCE 1945, whose tradition begun with arrival of historical convoy of legendary jeeps to Pilsner square on 6. 5. 1990. This day was unique not only for reason that it was 45th anniversary of Czechoslovakia liberation from fascist regime, it was unique because we could freely remember after 42 years of communist darkness, that the southwest Bohemia has been liberated by US Army and not Russian Red Army. It was a day when Pilsner spontaneously, probably as in May 1945, celebrated its newly gained FREEDOM. And there was a reason to celebrate, because freedom gained in May 1945 by the defeat of Nazism, was replaced quickly in February 1948 by new totality, this time the communist one.
Jeeps arrived to Pilsner square on the 6. 5. 1990, driven by our brave friends, who despite many troubles and unlawfulness of communist oppression, managed to keep American military jeep. Let’s remind us through 20th year of CONVOY OF REMEMBRANCE 1945 not only the 65th anniversary of southwest Bohemia liberation by US Army, but also personal bravery of people who always remembered, who really drove the Nazis out from Pilsner in May 1945. Let’s remind us also that our Military Car Club Pilsen celebrates this year the 20th anniversary of its founding.
I think we have something to celebrate, so let me invite you on behalf of Military Car Club Pilsen to participate on traditional 20th radial ride
